Mulberry

Taking advantage of our 3 rooms upstairs within our setting, our excellent baby room team will reassure you that you have made the right decision in joining Nurture from the moment you meet them. They will spend time getting to know you and your baby and will ensure that they are able to meet all your needs and follow your routines that you have put in place at home.

It is highly important that your child feels happy and secure at Nurture. Prior to a child starting with us we offer two free introductory sessions, we will work closely with you and your child and we recognise that every child is an individual, should further settling in sessions be required.

We use each child’s interests and learning style to plan the daily activities and implement the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure the planning of activities is suitable to each child’s individual stage of development.

Each child will have a Learning Journey on Tapestry this will follow their journey and progress throughout their time at Nurture, it will include photographs of your child’s work as well as play as well as written observations on your child’s progress. We also encourage parents and carers share in your child’s Learning at home by posting photographs and comments to their Tapestry account. Please visit our Tapestry and Education page for further information.

The children will also explore the outside environment, developing their physical development and understanding of the natural world. We use outside play to encourage and develop the children’s gross motor skills. We take the children for walks around Newquay and to the beach to show the children different environments such as the Trenance Gardens and the ducks; and talk about things that we see.

Each day you will receive feedback on your child’s day from their key person who has the main responsibility for your child. We will also give you a ‘home/nursery diary’. This is an excellent way of sharing information about your child. You child will also have a Learning Journal on Tapestry this will follow their journey and progress throughout their time at Nurture, it will include photographs of your child’s work as well as play as well as written observations on your child’s progress. We also encourage parents and carers share in your child’s Learning at home by posting photographs and comments to their Tapestry account.
